Music is one way of raising a child's self esteem. Here are some other ways to practice positive parenting - taken from the book "Always Kiss Me Good Night" by J.S. Salt, who asked children to write; "If I could tell my parents how to raise me, I'd tell them __________________."
Make your eyes sparkle when you see me.
Encourage me.
Tell me what I did right.
Snuggle me in your arms.
Love me for who I am.
Keep your promises.
Treat me like you treat your customers.
Please don't fill my life up every minute of the day - I need more free time.
Always have faith in me; never get mad at me.
Listen to me when I am talking.
Be proud of my best.
Tell me what's right and what is not.
Give me hugs.
Talk to me about what you do.
Say goodbye when you are going somewhere.
Don't blame me because I'm the oldest.
Take me somewhere special sometime - myself.
Eat dinner with me.
Read to me (even though I can read).
Don't always work - spend time with me.
Never forget to kiss me good night.
